It’s hard to go too far wrong if you name your child after grandfathers who had the kind of names that never go out of favor. Of course that’s not to say that the name Joseph Frederick is likely to generate comments like: “Cool name!” or “I wish I’d thought of that.”
It helps that the grandfathers could be described by proud mother Ivanka Trump as “master builders” and “inspiring patriarchs of their families” in the article published by Celebrity Baby Scoop.
As you’ve probably guessed, Ivanka Trump is Donald Trump’s daughter. Donald (aka “The Donald”) is one of the most famous “real estate tycoons” of his generation, which is one reason I find it interesting that Ivanka picked names that honored “patriarchs” from the previous generation.
I also find the names Ivanka picked interesting for another reason. Remember when Jenna Bush Hager ostensibly named her daughter, Margaret Laura after the baby’s paternal and maternal grandmothers, respectively? If you read my two posts about that event, I came to the conclusion that although the grandmother’s names were on the baby’s birth certificate, nobody (but the two grandmothers) were likely to call the baby “Margaret Laura.” Jenna spread the word that everyone was to call the baby Mila.
By contrast, Ivanka Trumps comes across as serious about the name Joseph Frederick. And although that name is not remotely, hip and trendy, I think it represents Ivanka’s sincere admiration for both grandfathers.
